In The Making
A NEW LEASE OF LIFE
One of the benefits of owning a pair of Goodyear welted shoes is that you can have them re-soled many times, without damaging the uppers, thereby prolonging their lifespan. Although all shoes will reach ‘end of life’ at some point, we are usually able to repair our shoes & boots 3 or 4 times if they have been well cared for.
Your shoes will arrive ‘home’, at our factory in Northampton, where they will first be stripped down, leaving the upper and insole intact. Next, they will be re-welted on the appropriate last (in order to retain their shape), before being re-soled and re-heeled. Finally, the new soles are finished to the factory standard and the uppers receive a clean and polish.

HOW TO ARRANGE A REPAIR
You have a number of options available to you, in order to return your shoes for repair:
1. Fill in the Repairs Form above by clicking on the 'BOOK A REPAIR' button.
2. You can take them into your nearest Crockett & Jones retail shop.
3. Finally you can visit one of our worldwide stockists. **Not all stockists will offer this service. Please contact them prior to your visit. Pricing details may vary.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FACTORY REPAIRS CAN TAKE UP TO 10 WEEKS, DEPENDING ON THE TIME OF YEAR.
Our repairs department can usually resole shoes & boots that have been well-cared for, up to three times.
Depending on the age or condition of your shoes or boots, there might be instances where we are unable to complete a repair. Unfortunately, this is often unearthed part way through our repair process. It is only at this stage where a pair of shoes or boots might be deemed ‘end of life’ by our experts. In this instance, we will refund the price you paid for your repair. We will not offer a replacement pair if our experts deem them to be ‘end of life’.
By sending your shoes or boots back for repair multiple times, you are agreeing to certain risks involved. If we are unable to complete the repairs process due to the age or condition of your shoes or boots, Crockett & Jones is not liable to offer a replacement pair. Crockett & Jones’ manufacturing process produces exceptionally durable footwear, but we do not offer a lifetime guarantee.
For smaller repair jobs (such as heel replacement only) or if time is of the essence, Crockett & Jones retail shops may also recommend a local repair service, which will be carried out by a reputable agent on our behalf and takes approximately 2 weeks. Retail staff will organise this repair for you and contact you when your shoes are ready for collection.
Crockett & Jones only recommends using our own factory repair service or that of a recommended repairer via a Crockett & Jones retail shop. If you decide to have your shoes repaired elsewhere and damages or problems occur, Crockett & Jones will not be held responsible for the condition of your shoes following this repair. Crockett & Jones are not liable for problems that can occur during wear once ‘half rubber’ or ‘stick-on-soles’ have been applied by a non-authorised repairer. The use of these soles, if not fitted correctly, can create an imbalance in the shoe and lead to other problems later down the line.
Using only the finest calf leathers from the leading tanneries of Europe, Crockett & Jones shoes are individually crafted on lasts designed to produce the best possible fitting characteristics. Each pair takes up to eight weeks to manufacture in a labour-intensive process involving over 200 highly skilled operations.
